    Seviyan Recipe Vermicelli Pudding

    Here's an easy Seviyan recipe (also known as vermicelli) with milk. It's a delicious and traditional South Asian dessert made with roasted vermicelli cooked in sweetened milk.

    Seviyan recipe with milk is a popular dessert enjoyed on various occasions and festivals in South Asian cultures. Seviyan is often prepared during Eid-ul-Fitr (celebrated at the end of Ramadan) as a traditional sweet dish to share with family and friends. It's considered a special treat for this festive occasion.

    Ingredients

    Ingredients For Seviyan Recipe
    • Vermicelli/Seviyan 1.5 cups
    • Sugar 1 cup
    • Milk 3 cups
    • Oil 1 tablespoon
    • Green Cardamoms 8-9
    • Nuts (Almonds, Pistachios or any nuts of your choice)

    roast it for 5 to 10 mins and then set aside

    cook for 10 to 15mins

    garnish with your choice of nuts and it's ready to serve

    Directions:

    • Heat pan, add 1 tablespoon oil.
    • Add 5 green cardamoms.
    • Add Vermicelli/Seviyan and roast it till it changes color approx. 5-10 minutes on medium flame
    • Keep Aside.
    • Heat 3 cups milk.
    • Add 4 green cardamoms.
    • Add sugar and cook till sugar dissolves.
    • Add roasted seviyan.
    • Cook for 10-15 minutes till done.
    • Garnish with almonds and pistachios (or any nuts of your choice).

    Substitutions

    • Milk: Whole milk provides richness to the dish, but you can use reduced-fat milk or even plant-based milk like almond milk or coconut milk for a dairy-free option. Adjust the sweetness accordingly if using sweetened plant-based milk.
    • Sugar: Instead of white sugar, you can use brown sugar.
