Bundoo Khan Fullerton – Honest Review of a Pakistani BBQ Heaven

Published: Jul 19, 2025 by Anum Ahsan · This post may contain affiliate links · Leave a Comment

    Bundoo Khan Fullerton

When we decided to visit California during the kids' summer break, we started looking for authentic Halal food in the state. If anyone is looking for flavorful, smoky, and authentic South Asian flavors in Orange County, we have some recommendations. Bundoo Khan Fullerton delivers just that. If you're in this town and craving BBQ food, then this casual, halal-certified Pakistani barbecue joint is the right spot for you. Among other options, the most famous are their Seekh Kabab, Chicken Tikka, Bihari Boti, Suji Halwa, and Falooda, making it perfect for families, groups, or even a single person.

Bundoo Khan has tables set up both indoors and outdoors, and families can enjoy the aroma of spices that fills the air, setting the stage for a flavorful and wonderful feast. What makes them unique is the setup of large dispensers for their Raita and Tamarind Chutney (aka Imli Chutney), allowing the guests to refill their containers as many times as they want. The vibe of this place is relaxed and casual and we can safely say that this place not only excels in taste but also provides comfort food which takes you back into childhood times when we used to enjoy food without any other distraction.

I loved the fact that they have an amazing outdoor setup with heaters, providing comfort and warmth on chilly, breezy Californian nights

    Bundoo Khan Fullerton Reception

What We Ordered at Bundoo Khan Fullerton:

    1. Beef Seekh Kabab:

Don't go on their small size because these kababs are a power punch with authentic asian flavor. Spicy, rich, and perfectly grilled, each piece bursts with traditional Pakistani seasoning with rich barbecue flavor. We tried the 12-piece option, and trust us, not a single piece was left behind.

Rating: 4.9/5 – Perfect with paratha, raita, imli chutney, or just on their own.

    2. Chicken Tikka:

If you are looking for that true Karachi-style tikka, this is it. They start by marinating the chicken in a blend of spices. Once the chicken absorbs all the richness from the marination, they grill it to smoky perfection and serve piping hot. We ordered one spicy Tikka for the adults and one mild for the kid and both were hits.

    Rating: 4.5/5 – Classic, bold, and well-balanced

    3. Beef Bihari Boti:

Hands-down one of the star dish of our dinner. It was well cooked and the beef was unbelievably tender, with a smoky aroma and that signature "melt-in-your-mouth" texture that Bihari boti is known for. Every bite was juicy and flavorful without being overpowering.

Rating: 4.8/5 – Highly recommend for meat lovers! Don't forget to drizzle some lemon juice and eat with imli chutney and onions.

    4. Fish:

This was the only item that didn’t completely win us over. We ordered fish for the kids. It was very mild in spice level and the fish was coated with masala on top giving it a flaky texture from outside and soft from inside, but it lacked the spice punch we were expecting. The masala sat more on top than soaked in.

Rating: 3.5/5 – Cooked well, but the flavor could be elevated.

    5. Suji Halwa:

This one brings back so many childhood memories when we used to eat Halwa Puri on almost every Sunday back in Pakistan. Sweet, warm, and full of that authentic desi flavor we crave. It’s not too greasy or overly sugary, just right and the kids couldn’t get enough when paired with paratha.

Rating: 5/5 – Pure comfort food that tastes like childhood.

    6. Original Falooda:

We missed it during our first visit, but came back just to try it and it was totally worth it. Cool, refreshing, and beautifully layered with rose syrup, falooda, nuts, and jelly. My only suggestion is to swap the vanilla ice cream with falooda-flavored ice cream to make it even more flavorful.

    Rating: ⅘ – Still a must-try after a spicy BBQ meal.

    7. Gola Ganda:

The kids were absolutely thrilled to see Gola Ganda on the menu. One even said it was “better than snow cones” and to be honest coming from our snow cone-loving crew, that’s a huge compliment. Sweet, colorful, and fun to eat was the perfect way to end our dinner on a playful note.

    Rating: ⅘ – Kid's favorite
