What is Tuscan Chicken?
But wait... what is Tuscan chicken? this isn't a traditional Italian dish, but rather an American twist inspired by the bold, rustic flavors of Tuscany (Italian seasonings). Just imagine sun-dried tomatoes, garlic, spinach, and herbs – all swimming in a creamy parmesan sauce. Isn't that mouthwatering? It's rich but not too heavy, savory with just a touch of sweetness from those tasty tomatoes, and it pairs beautifully with pasta, rice, or crusty bread. You’ll find this dish on menus in many American-Italian restaurants, but guess what? It’s super easy to make at home. I have got the easiest recipe that me and my family loves to enjoy together.
You can serve this delicious recipe with rice, pasta or crispy freshly made garlic bread. It will also go well with creamy and tasty mashed potatoes.

Ingredients
Let’s talk about what goes into this dreamy dish:
- Chicken Breasts (Boneless & Skinless) They’re lean, juicy, and cook up quickly. You can also use thighs if you like darker meat – more on that in the substitutions!
- Garlic Essential for that deep, mouth-watering flavor. Fresh is best!
- Onion Adds sweetness and depth to the sauce. Yellow or white onion works great.
- Salt, Pepper, & Italian Seasoning These pantry staples bring out the flavors.
- Olive Oil & Butter A combination of both gives the chicken a beautiful sear and adds richness to the sauce.
- Sun-Dried Tomatoes Chewy, sweet, and tangy – these are a game changer in this dish. Use the kind packed in oil for the best flavor.
- Spinach Adds a fresh, slightly earthy note. It wilts perfectly into the creamy sauce and balances the richness.
- Heavy Cream Creates that luscious, velvety sauce we all love.
- Parmesan Cheese Nutty, salty, and essential for thickening and flavoring the sauce. Use freshly grated if you can!
