Hooters Halal Mediterranean Restaurant Review - Orland Park, IL

Published: Jun 5, 2026 by Anum Ahsan · This post may contain affiliate links · Leave a Comment

Finding good halal Mediterranean food in the southwest suburbs? It's harder than it should be. You want quality ingredients, sure, but also somewhere you can actually take the kids without it turning into a whole production. We recently checked out Hooters on LaGrange Road in Orland Park and no, not that Hooters. This one's a fresh Lebanese fast-casual spot that's been quietly building a loyal halal following across Chicagoland. Bright, clean, full of wraps and shawarma and vegetarian options. It's become our go-to when we need something quick and actually halal.

    What Makes This Hooters Different

Okay, so the name throws people off. I get it. But this Hooters is 100% halal and serves authentic Lebanese Mediterranean food nothing to do with the sports bar chain. It's at 15300 LaGrange Road, super convenient if you're anywhere near Orland Park. Everything's halal certified, so you can relax and just enjoy your meal. The space itself? Clean and welcoming. More fast-casual than fancy, with a bright modern vibe that works whether you're grabbing lunch solo or wrangling three kids through dinner (been there).

    What We Tried

    Chicken Shawarma Wrap

The Chicken Shawarma Wrap is really, really good. Tender chicken tucked into this fresh, pillowy pita with crisp lettuce, juicy tomatoes, pickles, and a generous drizzle of creamy garlic sauce. The chicken had that classic shawarma spice blend warm and aromatic with hints of cumin and paprika. And the pita? Soft and fresh, not dry or stale like some places that clearly don't care. This is comfort food done right, and for the portion size, the price is totally reasonable.

    Beef Shawarma Plate

We also tried the Beef Shawarma Plate. It comes with rice or fries, salad, and hummus. The beef was flavorful and tender, though honestly? I preferred the chicken—it had this lighter, more aromatic thing going on. The rice was fluffy with a subtle buttery flavor. And the hummus was smooth and well-seasoned, clearly made fresh and not scooped from some sad plastic container.

    Lentil Soup

Can we talk about the Lentil Soup for a second? Because it deserves its own moment. Rich, earthy, warming beautiful golden color, perfectly seasoned with cumin and just a hint of lemon. This is the kind of soup that feels nourishing, like someone's mom made it (in the best way). I'd absolutely start your meal with a cup, especially when it's cold out.

    Falafel Wrap

For the vegetarian option, we went with the Falafel Wrap. The falafel patties were crispy outside, fluffy and herby inside you could taste the parsley and cilantro, bright and fresh. Paired with tahini sauce, pickled vegetables, and fresh tomatoes, this wrap is satisfying enough that it doesn't feel like you're missing out on anything.

    Atmosphere and Service

The vibe here is casual and totally family-appropriate. Counter-service style you order at the register, they bring food to your table. Easy. The dining room's spacious with plenty of seating, so even if you've got a bigger family or you're meeting up with friends, you're fine. During our visit, the staff was friendly and efficient. Though based on what I've read in other reviews, it can vary depending on how slammed they are. The whole place felt clean and well-maintained, which let's be real matters a lot when you're eating out with kids.

    Value for Money

Price-wise, we're looking at $$. Wraps run $8-12, plates are usually $12-16. Portions are generous most adults will find the wraps plenty filling for lunch, and the plates can definitely satisfy a serious appetite. For a family of four, you're probably spending around $40-50. That's reasonable for halal dining in the suburbs, especially when the quality's there.

    Final Verdict

Here's the thing Hooters in Orland Park fills a real gap for halal-eating families in the southwest suburbs who want fresh, flavorful Mediterranean food without all the fuss. It's not fine dining. But the quality of ingredients, the generous portions, and the reliably halal menu? That makes it a solid choice for lunch or dinner. The shawarma and lentil soup are particular highlights, and there are enough vegetarian options that everyone in the family can find something they'll actually enjoy. If you're in Orland Park, Tinley Park, or anywhere nearby and you need a quick, healthy halal meal, this spot is absolutely worth adding to your rotation.
